Lars the Last Viking Goes To The End Of The World, by Matt Taylor
Partly wild and partly whimsical, the Lars tale is one about growing up and accepting your fate, even if it means having to battle sea serpents or fetch gin for depressed foliage.
Amy Louise Maynard
Lars the last Viking Goes to the End of the World is a Viking, death metal mini epic that was first performed live at The Graphic Festival at the Opera House in 2011 with a free form guitar solo accompaniment. It is Matt's response to becoming a new father and explores themes of "what happened to all my friends" and neo brutalist masculinity.
Matt Taylor is a character designer and creative director who co-founded animation studio, Sixty40, and now runs his own studio, The Explainers. He is currently developing an animation project and still enjoys Norse mythology, ukuleles and long walks on the beach.
