Folding Kimono is a short autobiographical comic about being a Japanese-New Zealander. The comic discusses the barriers to engaging with heritage across distance and generations through the gift and care of a traditional kimono.
Jem Yoshioka is an illustrator and comic artist living in New Zealand. Her work has been published in comic anthologies and online. She is currently working on a series of comics around her Japanese heritage.
